Attualmente docente al dipartimento danza dell'univerità dello Iowa e coreografa residente per il Ballet Quad Cities, è autrice di diverse coreografie nelle prime edizioni di Rimini in DANZA e tramite per i gemellaggi con il dipartimento danza dell'Università dello Iowa.

Duties include Teaching company class rehearsing the Repertoire. Planning rehearsal schedule, viewing performances and giving corrections, Company has 22 Dancers and Artistic Staff of 4. Ms Carter is Choreographer for the Opera Zar & Zimmerman, Johannes Felsenstein Director, And Night inVenice Tony Gebler Director She has also choreographed for International Gala as well as choreographing the New Years Concert for the Ballet with the Anhahtisches Theater Orchestra Golo Berg conductor.
- 2000-2001 Teatro San Carlo Ballet Company , Naples Italy Assistente alla Choreografia (assistant to the Artistic Director) Artistic Director Luciano Cannito . Duties include rehearsing the company, teaching occasional and warm-up and class, planning rehearsal schedule and monthly plan, rehearsing the company for ballet and opera productions, assisting the choreographer and guest choreographers in all facets of the productions, viewing performances for corrections to be given, Repertoire Includes 2 full length ballets, 4 repertoire works and 3 opera productions. The company is comprised of 40 stabile (union contract dancers) and 22 aggunti (dancers hired for a short term contract) dancers totaling 66.
- 1999-2000 Leipzig Ballet , Leipzig Germany. Ballet Mistress Prof. Uwe Scholtz Artistic director and Choreographer. Company of 54 dancers with 8 programs a season. Deanna Carter was invited to make choreography for the Leipzig Ballet Intern 1 concert of 2000

- 1997- Aterballetto , Reggio Emilia, Italia, Functioned as Artistic Director during the 8 months the company was without a director . Ballet Mistress- Rehearsal Director . Company of 16 dancers with 16 (aggunti) guest dancers, repertoire of Balanchine, Bejart, Parsons, Bigonzetti, Van Hoeck and others. Responsibilities included: Directing the company and guiding the business staff, teaching company class; rehearsing the repertoire; coaching dancers; planning rehearsal and company schedules; conducting rehearsals in theater, studio, and on tour. Responsible for the company during their search for a new Artistic Director. ( Mauro Bigonzetti was selected and took the Direction in September 1997)
